What are your two favorite brands from our STYLEFAV website?

Absolutely love Ted Baker and Sanctuary.

Quote you live by?

“Life does not end once motherhood starts”. This is actually my quote that was rooted through my journey as a content creator and business owner. I knew that motherhood wasnt the end of my story, and I vow to spread that message to other mothers.

What is your favorite book and why?

I love Michelle Obama’s book, “Becoming”. It was great to learn how similar she was to me. I never related to any first lady before, so it was an amazing experience to read her story.

What is your favorite thing about being a mother?

My favorite part was reconnecting with my mom. With my first child, I had so much respect for my mother. We actually became best friends, and we literally talk everyday.

How has becoming a mom impacted your personal style?

My style has completely changed. Based on what we have planned that day and how I am feeling, my outfit would change. If the kids happen to wake up before I do, and pull me out of bed, I will be wearing leggings and a hoodie! I never know exactly what I’ll wear until the day of.

How would you describe personal style?

You know, I have been trying to figure that out myself! I absolutely love the minimalist type of style, but you can find me with a floral dress and heels. It really varies based on my mood.

What made you decide to start blogging?

I needed an outlet. With my first I felt completely alone, and needed to talk to someone. Blogging really lifted my burden, and helped me tap into a world of women who were feeling the exact same way.

What are some tips and tricks you can offer to aspiring mommy bloggers?

Keep going! The first couple of months will be difficult, but keep sight of your goal! Also, make sure it is what you love doing. It makes it worthwhile.

What are the things you learned while being a mom that you wish you knew before-hand?

I learned to love my hair – my daughter was born with my hair type and it was interesting to see how much I did not like my own. Through styling her hair, and seeing how beautiful she always appeared, it helped me embrace my own.

Learned my passion- This is something I probably wish I had before but without being a mom, I would have never known. I love creating content, and sharing my story with the world. My children, my marriage and this journey truly led me to my passion.

What is one magical moment that you had in 2020?

Well, I have two magical moments! I was featured on Parent’s Magazine as the “Top 10 Black Mom Bloggers to Follow”. It was life changing to know that my work was out there and was noticed by many.

My second magical moment has to be launching my diaper bag brand YUUMA! It was a dream come true to see it come to life and have so many love our designs. I can’t wait to share our new designs for 2021.

What has been your most exciting moment since becoming an influencer?

My most exciting moment has to be watching my community grow. It’s amazing how things can change when you share your story with the world.
