If you could go back in time, what’s one piece of advice you’d give to your younger self?
Don’t let what people think dictate what you do with your life. People are always going to talk, so give them something to talk about.
What made you decide to start blogging?
Growing up, I’ve always had a knack for writing. My friends have always told me I’m one of the best advice givers so it transitioned into writing advice columns on things like dating, creating a stellar Instagram profile, figuring out how to live your best life etc. As I wrote more and more content, I realized I needed a place to store it. Given my background in Digital Marketing, I was able to whip up a website pretty quickly and www.nehaltenany.com
was born. As I started exploring different niches around what to blog about, things I loved included travel, fashion, beauty and so much more. My blog in an online destination that provides people with a round trip ticket into my life. It’s meant to be an inspirational editorial platform that shares travel, style, dating and beauty tips for the modern consumer.
Where do you find inspiration for your blog content?
I’m really inspired by a few of my best friends and my sister, they are so supportive and loud when it comes to my blog and my writing. I get texts from them saying, hey I’m having this issue, you should write a blog about it. Or, hey, I need some recommendations, do you have any? And, that translates into a blog. When it comes to fashion and beauty, my inspiration comes from other bloggers online and of course, fashion week. I love seeing the new up & coming trends and figuring out how I can incorporate them in my blog. I’ve also worked with a few brands so when I’m given early access to their lines, I’m able to get inspired of what my seasonal look will be.
What is your favorite aspect of blogging?
The response! I love when people are able to connect with my blogposts and I’m able to help them solve an issue that they are having or make that recommendation for them. My goal is always to provide advice, to make someone feel like they have another friend in their life – a digital one. I love getting DM’s and texts of people sharing their stories with me & making new friends.
Gym or outdoors?
GYM. Really missing my local Equinox during this self-quarantine time.
How would you describe your personal style?
Feminine, Trend-Driven, and Modern.
I prefer wearing flowing silhouettes and muted colors. I love feminine details like bows, ruffles, pleats, mesh and lace. Even with simpler styles, I’m more likely to choose those pretty colors and decorative details – I can never go past a floral print. I love wearing small open-toed heels and my accessory choices are delicate and minimal. With that being said, I do love to try new styles but my go-to style is definitely someone who is attending a high-class brunch on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

A luxury belt.
What is one fashion trend you wished never happened?
Teeny, tiny purses. Don’t understand what people can even fit in there. A crumb for a late night snack?
Best career tip you’ve ever received?
Never stop growing your skills. My dad has always told me there’s always someone better and more motivated than you are out there, so what’s stopping someone from hiring them? Always be up to date with industry trends, continue building on your skills, and never stop dreaming big.
