What is something amazing about Arizona that would surprise our readers?
Arizona has the best sunrise ever! You can see different shades of pink, purple, and red. It’s so beautiful.
What is your favorite thing about Arizona?
The weather! I know many people will say that Phoenix is too hot, but I love the warm weather. If you’re a golfer, Arizona is where you want to be because you can play golf all year round.
What are 3 things everyone that visits Arizona must do?
Hike, eat, and sightsee! There are so many places you can hike in Arizona.
What inspired you to start your blog?
I first start becoming an “influencer” back in 2009 when I was 12 on YouTube. I was making beauty videos and landed my first sponsored video when I was 13. From there, I started creating content on Instagram, and in 2016, I realized that I wanted my own platform, so I created my blog! I’ve always loved reading blogs and wanted to share my journey as well.
What’s your favorite aspect about blogging?
There are so many things! I love all the people I have met through blogging. I love sharing my experience and connecting with other people who have gone through similar situations. Overall, I love the community that blogging has brought me.
Have you ever ordered anything off the secret menu at Starbucks?
I actually don’t drink at Starbucks! I prefer to support local coffee shops and I usually get an iced mocha with whole milk.
What is your blogging process like from concept to publish?
First, I will start by brainstorming ideas and write the blog post! This process takes a couple of days to sometimes even a week or two. After finishing the blog post, I tend to step away from it a day or two and revisit the blog post. If I think it’s a good idea, I will then polish up my writing and have a friend proofread it over for me. Since the process takes a while, I am usually writing 3 or 4 different blog post at a time!
What are 3 things that you’ve since learned that you wished you knew when you started your blog?
There are so many things I wish I knew when I started. First of all, to stop being such a perfectionist. I was very meticulous about having every blog post formatted and stylized the same way that I would spend hours upon hours going back to older posts and changing the format. Second, nothing is ever perfect. Companies are constantly evolving and updating their brand. Your first logo will not be your last logo. Third, go for it! I’ve always wanted to start a blog since I was 16 years old. I never started it because I felt like it was too expensive. There are so many platforms out there that you can begin writing for free. From there, you can migrate your content over to your own platform when you can financially afford to have your own host and server.
Where do you go find inspiration?
From other bloggers! I’m really close to some of my favorite bloggers and I truly believe community over competition. Collaborating is key!
What are some tips and tricks you can offer to aspiring bloggers on creating their blog and Instagram aesthetic?
Go with what you like! I used to struggle with finding my ‘own style ’ but it’ll come to you! The only tip I have is to go through trial and error.
