My days start relatively the same way each day – up at 530am, at my kitchen table with my phone, a book and a cup of hot lemon water. I check my Instagram (what else?!) and I read. I have to feed my mind before I can begin the day. After about 45 minutes, I head downstairs to my home gym for a work out.
What is a typical day in your life like?
I have two energetic boys so after we are ready, I make breakfast for us before we start our days. It’s important to me that we are together as much as possible as a family, so after a work and school day, we are back together for dinner. Then it’s me time! And my me time is – shopping!
I love looking at clothes and shoes; it feeds my soul to look at the colors, the changing trends, what I want to buy and how I want to pair it. Fashion is in my blood and I am so happy that it is!
What are 3 things you cannot leave the house without?
That’s a hard one! I am a lipgloss addict so I always have at least one with me. The other two are an eco-friendly water bottle and a protein bar so I can snack. Can I pick 4? The other is a light sweater.
Describe your go to casual day outfit.
I’m obsessed with jeans. I have five pairs of Rag & Bone skinny jeans so I am usually in a pair of those. If it’s summer, definitely flip flops and if it’s winter – a cute pair of fur boots. Tops vary – I change temperature so quickly so I love to layer with a cute tank top and then a light cardi / sweater.
Workout Class or Yoga?
Work out for sure! I strength train because I like the intensity of the muscle endurance. I immensely dislike cardio because working out is my brain break. My day job is very futuristic planning and if can feel as if I am always thinking and my weight work out is the only time I am truly concentrating on the moment and nothing else.
Describe your personal style?
Eclectic! Sometimes I go super fancy in a gown at a charity ball and other times I am dishing out treats at my boys’ baseball games. My wardrobe is filled with everything from gym shoes to four inch stilettos, workout wear to fancy dresses. I love it all! There’s just something about designing an outfit around an experience that makes me think about every moment I will be in it.
Who is your style icon?
I have two – Audrey Hepburn for classic style and Melissa Gorga for her eclecticness.
What are two autumn winter pieces every girl should own?
A cute pair of slip ons – have you seen Bobs for Sketchers rhinestone ones? I can wear them to work on Fridays and straight out for drinks. And jeans, jeans, jeans…
What is a must have fashion accessory?
Two bags – one investment piece. I carry my Louis everywhere during the day. It has enough room for everything that I need – including my reusable water bottle.
And one for the night. The trends change so much, that I like to buy a few less expensive ones. The current trend is the pearl bags. I have a pink one that I bought in Paris last summer at a boutique and a white one from my sister-in-law as a birthday gift.
What’s the best style advice you’ve been given?
My mom always said, don’t buy pieces, by outfits – and she was so right! Every time I purchase something as a separate or don’t envision it with something else that I already own, it becomes this lonely item, that just….sits.
