I start my day at 5.20 am, I drink my probiotics and warm lemon water and then I go straight to the gym. When I come back, I have my coffee (cappuccino with almond milk) and my breakfast. Then I start with my workday.
What does a typical day in your week look like?
Every day, I wake up, I go to the gym and then I have my breakfast. After that, I do my work (I work from home 3 days a week). I am the most productive in the morning, so I try to do majority of my work before lunch. After lunch, I give myself a 15 minutes break/ nap time and then I do some more work or UNI work for about 2 hours. After that, I like to spend my day outside. We either go rock-climbing, kitesurfing, biking or go on long walks with my dogs. I love the outdoors and nature, so I try to spend as much time as I can outside.
What has been your greatest adventure?
Oh, I have done some great trips. My by far favorite one has been a road trip around Spain. I went there with my friend, we took a month off everything and we just cruised around Spain, exploring new cities and places we have never been before.
This year, I went on a kite trip to Brazil, which was also amazing and a great trip by itself. But, there has been plenty more: van trips, exploring Europe, Canada, New York, Cape Town etc.
I must admit though, my heart belongs to the sea, so I try to do as many sailing trips as I can and even though I know the Croatian island, because I’ve been sailing around them pretty much my whole life, they are still my greatest place under the sun.
Traveling and exploring new places is truly my biggest passion, so I try to save my money and go on as many trips as I can. I truly make them my priority and I would definitely like to travel some more in the next few years.
What is the best meal you’ve ever had?
I have a sweet tooth and I am a sucker for fruits; so the answer is definitely acai bowls in Brazil. They own my heart. They are the sweetest thing I have ever tasted.
Who takes your photos?
Majority of my photos are taken by my sister, my boyfriend or me.
What sparked your passion for travel?
I had been traveling since I can remember, so I must say, my parents have given me the passion to travel. They have always encouraged me to explore the world, see new things and see things from a different perspective.
We have travelled a lot together, but since I got older and more independent and more into sports, this passion has expanded and now I am constantly looking for new places to visit and new adventures to try.
What is one country you think everyone should visit and why?
Honestly, Croatia. Because it is such a simple, but yet such a beautiful place. The water is crystal clear, the food is amazing, the summer vibe is just great- everybody is happy and you can explore some old cities (Split), relax by the sea or do some extreme sports (kitesurfing on Bol etc. )
What has been your favorite travel destination and why?
As I said, I love Croatia, but I don’t look at it as a ‘’travel destination’’, as I almost live there half of the year.
So, it would have to be Spain. As I said, I love the feeling I get in a certain country and Spain has been a place I keep on going back to. The people are great, the vibe is amazing, the FOOD is great and the whole country is just breathtaking.
What is one thing our readers would be surprised to learn about you?
I am very passionate when it comes pollution. I try to do everything I can, to inform the people about this problem and clean the planet as much as I can. I always use reusable bags, cups, straws etc. and I try not to buy ting in plastic.
What is the greatest advice you’ve been given and who gave it to you?
My grandmother said to me: life goes by so fast, almost in a blink of an eye. One day you wake up and your life is almost over. So live everyday like is your last and take the most advantage of every minute you have. Don’t waste your energy on negative energy and live the life the way you want to live it, take opportunities, always want more and never settle for anything. You have a voice to make your own decisions and feet to walk your own path, so use them.
And my mom, who always tells me: Don’t be a dead fish. Swim against the tide.
These sayings are stuck with me and it is truly how I try to live my life every day.
